FAQs
What is Cabinets & Such’s process?
Great question! Ultimately, our process starts with you. We want to know what your project is (kitchen remodel? bathroom rip-out-and-replace? laundry room redesign?) and what your project budget looks like. Once we know what we’re getting into, we can better assist you.
If you’re simply looking to purchase the pieces for your dream space (cabinets, counter tops, hardware, decorative plumbing, tile and countertop surfaces, etc.) you’ve definitely come to the right place. We’ll ask you to measure your space and secure your appliances and contractor. However, if you’re looking for more hands-on help with a redesign or remodel, we’ll send you over to our team at Kitchen Studio Monterey (they do all the fancy design things, we just sell you what you need!)
What do you mean by ‘project budget’ and why do I need one?
Your budget is basically the life-blood of your new project and usually sets the tone for how we help you purchase goods. We always ask clients for a ball-park figure of what they think they can spend on everything (and we mean EVERYTHING). For example, if you’re looking to spend only $10,000 on finish materials for a rip-out-and-replace kitchen, we’re probably NOT going to go with fully custom cabinetry. We’ll guide you in the right direction and do our best to meet your needs. Checkout our budget calculator to get a head start!
Why do I need to measure my space and how do I do it?
We always ask our clients to measure their space, as knowing the proper measurements of your space will help us with your product decisions.
Measure lengths of your walls as well as widths and locations of windows and door openings too (your handy-dandy project helper or contractor or should be able to help with this, or we can come take a look as well!)
Do I need to have my appliances before I start?
Though you don’t physically have your appliances at the start of the process, we do ask that you provide the model numbers or basic dimensions for each appliance. Appliance models specifications are critical to the overall fit of your project components (especially in a kitchen!), so whether you’re buying new appliances or using existing ones, we want to make sure everything works together nicely.
Do I need to have my own project helper or contractor?
We definitely don’t require our clients to have a contractor, however we know that they make the process a whole lot easier!
Though we’re happy to make project helper recommendations to the best of our ability, it’s very helpful if you find a trusty contractor or handy person that can assist you with planning, installing, and everything in between.
